How do I access a specific database?

Answer

The Moakley Law Library has 94 databases available for student, faculty and staff use. Alumni use varies by location. Please get in touch with the library for more information. Some databases require passwords which are indicated by a lock symbol next to the database name. Most others can be accessed from any computer in Sargent Hall or off-campus (after authentication).

Users can access the database list by going through the Library Homepage and selecting the "Use a Research Database" button. See the image below for a visual example.

Users can also access the database page through the chatbot by selecting "research help," then selecting "database suggestion" or by selecting "databases" and searching by name the database they are looking for. Users can also go directly to the Database Home page via this link. Once on the database page, patrons can search for specific databases by name, subject or vendor in the search bar or by the first letter of the database under the A-Z list. If you're unsure of what database would be most helpful, try searching by subjects or keywords and checking out the recommended databases by librarians!
